Amicia Oldfield is a writer and journalist. She has written for House & Garden, Harpers & Queen (where she was Shopping Editor 1992-6), H&G (USA 1987-9 ) Vogue USA Senior Features Editor (1987-1990), The Times, The Sunday Telegraph, the Evening Standard, Country Life, House and Garden, The Big Issue and The Independent. She is the author of 20thCentury British Castles (Francis Lincoln, 2012), Carpets for the Home (1999), and A Passion for Pattern (1997).
She co-founded and writes for Faversham Life. She is a trustee of The Sheerness Dockyard Preservation Trust, the Queenborough Fishery Trust, and the Assembly Rooms, Faversham. She lives at Doddington Place, whose gardens are open to the public, with her husband and son.
